Reefers are enclosed trailers with an onboard refrigeration unit that maintains specific temperature ranges throughout transit. Required for any payload that can't tolerate heat, cold, or temperature swings during shipment. Continuous temperature monitoring documents the cold chain.
Common reefer loads: perishable food and beverages, meat and poultry, dairy products, fresh produce, frozen goods, pharmaceuticals and vaccines, medical specimens, floral shipments, certain chemicals and adhesives, and specialty materials with temperature-sensitive storage specs. If the product has a temperature requirement on the label or the spec sheet, it needs a reefer.
Reefers cover full truckload and partial-load temperature-controlled freight. Shippers moving less than a full trailer can book exclusive-use dispatch for schedule control and cold chain integrity — no shared loads, no opening the reefer door for other customers' freight along the route.

Call us or submit the quote form. Share pickup, delivery, cargo details, required temperature range, weight, and your timeline.
Approve the quote. We assign a reefer from the fleet or network, pre-cool the trailer to the required temperature, and mobilize. Urgent loads can be en route within 2 hours.
GPS tracking and continuous temperature monitoring from pickup to delivery. On arrival, you get delivery confirmation and a full temperature log for your cold chain records.
Every reefer in our fleet and vetted network is maintained, insured, and continuously monitored. Here's exactly what you're working with.

No LTL consolidation, no hub transfers, no shared cooling cycles with other shippers' loads. One reefer, one driver, direct from pickup to delivery.
Own fleet plus a vetted carrier network for overflow capacity. Same accountability standard, same tracking, same cold chain documentation — every time.
Cold chain doesn't wait for nights, weekends, or holidays. Neither do we. Dispatch runs around the clock, 365 days a year — including emergency cold chain response.
Live GPS tracking plus continuous temperature monitoring from pickup to delivery. One person managing your load — you'll know where it is and what temperature it's at.
An enclosed trailer with an onboard refrigeration unit that maintains a set temperature throughout transit. Reefers typically run 48 to 53 feet in length, with a temperature range from -20°F to +70°F depending on the unit. Continuous temperature monitoring produces a cold chain record for compliance and quality control.
Most reefers in service can hold temperatures from -20°F (deep frozen) up to +70°F (above ambient on cold days). The required range depends on the payload. Specify the temperature requirement when you request a quote so we dispatch a unit capable of holding that range and pre-cool before pickup.
Approximately 44,000 lbs and 22 to 26 standard pallets, depending on pallet size and stacking. Interior dimensions run roughly 53 feet long, 98 inches wide, and 108 inches tall. The refrigeration unit takes up slightly more internal space than a dry van, so usable cube is marginally smaller.
Rates depend on distance, temperature range, weight, and urgency. Reefer freight is typically priced per loaded mile with fuel surcharge, plus an adjustment for the reefer fuel used to maintain temperature. Deeper temperature ranges (frozen, deep frozen) and longer transits cost more. Request a quote for an exact number on your shipment.
Yes. Continuous temperature monitoring throughout transit, with the log available on request after delivery. For pharma, food safety, and other regulated cold chain loads, documented temperature records are the compliance trail auditors and quality teams require.
Often within 2 hours of confirming a shipment. Reefer dispatch requires slightly more lead time than dry van to pre-cool the trailer to the required temperature before loading. For emergency cold chain dispatch, call us directly at (813) 442-3001 — our dispatchers answer 24/7.
