Operational Advantage

Why Drivers Choose OnPoint

Most carriers say the right things in a job posting. Here's what actually separates OnPoint from the companies most drivers have already worked under.

Consistent Freight

Real shipper relationships, not a load board

We run our own shipper relationships and dispatch through a vetted network. There's always freight on the board. We don't promise loads we can't deliver and we don't leave drivers parked for days waiting on a call. When you're available, we put you to work.

You Talk to Real People

24/7. Live. No app, no queue.

Call OnPoint dispatch and a person picks up. Not a phone tree. Not a chatbot. Not a voicemail box checked Monday morning. Dispatch is staffed around the clock, every day of the year. They know your name, your equipment, and your preferences. Problem on the road — you call, we handle it.

You Get Paid On Time

No games. Weekly settlement.

Pay is non-negotiable. When OnPoint says you'll be paid on a schedule, that's when the money moves. No chasing invoices. No mystery deductions. No 30-day net that turns into 60. You haul the load, you get paid what you were told you'd get paid. Done.

Respect for the Work

Built by someone who's been in the seat.

Trucking is hard. Long hours, tight timelines, demanding customers, a thousand things between pickup and delivery. OnPoint was built by someone who knows that. Drivers are the operation. Without drivers, there's no freight. We don't forget that — and it shows in how we run.

Driver Standards

What You Need to Apply

OnPoint moves freight for shippers who can't afford mistakes. These are the standards every driver on our fleet meets before their first dispatch.

Owner Operators

Your own equipment — flatbed, sprinter van, straight truck, box truck, or other DOT-compliant commercial vehicle in good working condition
Valid CDL appropriate to vehicle class — not all hotshot vehicles require a CDL, but authority must match the equipment
Clean MVR — pre-employment review required. Major violations in the last three years are disqualifying.
Current DOT physical card — must be in good standing before your first load
Pass FMCSA drug and alcohol screening — including Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse query. Federal requirement, no exceptions.
Willing to operate under OnPoint's MC authority via lease-on agreement and carry appropriate insurance

Company Drivers

Valid CDL, class appropriate to assigned equipment — current, no restrictions that limit routes
Clean MVR — no major violations in the last three years. DUIs, reckless driving, or multiple HOS violations are disqualifying.
Current DOT physical card — must be in good standing before first dispatch
Pass pre-employment DOT drug screen and ongoing FMCSA random testing — Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse query required
Professional conduct at facilities — our shippers trust us with access to their sites. That extends to every driver who shows up at their door.
Reliable communication — you answer your phone and respond to dispatch within a reasonable window. Non-negotiable.
What You Get

What Running for OnPoint Looks Like

Not perks on a poster. The operational realities of what it means to haul under the OnPoint flag.

01

Consistent Freight

Real shipper relationships, not a load board. Lanes that repeat. Customers who know us and book again. Fewer dead weeks and more predictable income — whether you're leased on or driving company.

02

Weekly Pay Settlement

Owner operators settle weekly with a clear, itemized pay sheet. Company drivers paid on a consistent schedule. No holding your earnings. No mystery deductions. No settlement games.

03

Live 24/7 Dispatch

A real dispatcher available every hour of every day. Not an app. Not a chat bot. When you're broken down at midnight in the middle of nowhere, someone answers and makes decisions.

04

Dedicated Dispatcher

You work with the same dispatch contact — not a rotating queue of whoever answered. They know your equipment, your preferred lanes, and how you like to run.

05

Fuel Card Program

Fleet fuel card access for in-network discounts. Less time managing out-of-pocket fuel costs, more time focused on the load and the road.

06

Direct Line to Ownership

20-plus drivers, owner-operated company. If something isn't working — pay, dispatch, equipment, anything — there's a direct path to the person with the authority to fix it.

Tired of Dispatch That Doesn't Pick Up?

We built OnPoint around the things that drove us crazy working under other carriers. Answer the phone. Pay what you promised. Tell the driver the truth. It's not complicated — but it's rare.

I've leased on with two other companies before OnPoint. The difference is dispatch — when something goes sideways at 2am, I can actually reach someone who makes a decision. That alone is worth more than a few extra cents per mile.

A Carrier That Runs Straight

Verified Authority. Clean Records.

OnPoint is FMCSA-registered with active motor carrier and broker authority. Full DOT compliance across the operation: Driver Qualification Files, ELD compliance, hours-of-service adherence, drug and alcohol testing, vehicle maintenance records. These aren't boxes we check because an auditor might show up. They're how we run. For drivers, operating under a carrier with clean compliance means you're not exposed to liability from someone else's shortcuts.

Driver FAQ

Common Questions

Owner operators and company drivers. Owner operators bring their own equipment and run under OnPoint's MC authority through the lease-on program. Company drivers are assigned an OnPoint unit and haul as employees. Both roles run hotshot and expedited freight: exclusive-use loads, direct routes, no LTL hub stops.

Depends on the vehicle. Federal regs require a CDL for units with a gross vehicle weight rating over 26,001 lbs and for certain cargo types. Many hotshot vehicles, including sprinter vans and some straight trucks, fall below the CDL threshold. Indicate your situation on the application and we'll clarify during review.

You bring the equipment and operate under OnPoint's MC authority. We provide freight through our shipper network, dispatch support, and back-office coordination. You stay independent as a contractor. We handle load matching, shipper relationships, and logistics. You haul and earn a competitive percentage of load revenue. Specific terms are discussed during application and onboarding.

Hotshot and expedited freight across multiple verticals: oil and gas equipment, construction materials, manufacturing parts, food industry freight, and more. Loads are exclusive-use — one shipper's freight on the truck at a time. Direct from pickup to delivery. No LTL consolidation, no terminal stops. Routes range from same-day local to cross-country depending on the load and your availability.

Owner operators earn a percentage of load revenue. Specific rates depend on equipment type and lane coverage and are discussed during the application process. Company drivers are paid per mile, with rates based on experience and route type. All drivers run on a consistent weekly pay schedule. No hold pay, no hidden deductions, no settlement games. You haul the load, you get paid what you were told you'd get paid.

Yes. All drivers pass a pre-employment DOT drug screen before dispatch. Drivers are also subject to random drug and alcohol testing per FMCSA regs. We query the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse during pre-employment screening. Federal law. Any carrier telling you otherwise is cutting corners you don't want to be associated with.

OnPoint dispatches from Texas and runs freight across all 48 contiguous states and Canada. The mix of regional vs long-haul depends on what's on the board and your preferences. Many loads originate near Texas freight corridors, but we coordinate continent-wide through the network. Lane preferences are discussed during application.

We review applications inside 1 to 2 business days. If you're a fit, we call to discuss. Once you complete onboarding — compliance screening, paperwork — you can be dispatched within a week. For owner operators, lease-on agreement and authority setup add a few days. Application to first dispatch typically runs 1 to 2 weeks for qualified candidates.
